CHRISTOPHER WOLTER[email protected]
work located at Randwick
In this work I have tried to express the combination of the human and the other–worldly, with the seat of life — the heart — represented as the core of this divine love. I wanted to create a work of art that is devotional in the traditional manner but also incorporates something of the contemporary world speaking to us today.
Raised in Adelaide and living in both Melbourne and Canberra, Christopher Wolter is a Sydney–based artist in his final year at the National Art School. Travelling extensively, his view of his surroundings is one informed by contrasts. After completing a Bachelor of Theology and a certificate in Youth Ministry, Wolter came to Sydney to pursue a career in the fine arts. He hopes to explore the urban Australian experience, approaching all things in the light of Christian poetics.
