Wallpaper depicts faith and Jesus Christ as being so integral a part of contemporary society that it is often overlooked. Faith tends to be ‘covered’ by the patterns of daily life and so is quietly relegated to the background. My artwork says, faith is always there — it’s merely a matter of looking deeply for it.
Sydneysider Felicity Blackadder is a graduate of the College of Fine Arts (UNSW) where she is currently completing her Honours. Her work can be found in margins of high school math text books and in countless women’s bathrooms across the city. She can often be found tearing down street posted for her collage–based paintings, making stencils, or photographing the best graffiti in the dirtiest streets Sydney has to offer. In the future she hopes to become a cleaner.
