With all the modern trappings of inner city life it is easy to neglect one’s faith. We are constantly bombarded by logos, slogans and images in advertisements which claim to offer us true happiness. Busy people don’t have time to read long or complicated statements so I have used these same signs, codes and conventions to communicate my message about faith.
Jason Wing is a Sydney–based painter of Aboriginal, Chinese and Australian heritage. Wing is also a graduate of the Sydney College of the Arts and Sydney Graphics College. He has experimented with paper cuts and has a keen interest in stencil art. Wing has shown in galleries in Australia and overseas since 2006, including the 4A Gallery, Sydney and the Boomalli Gallery, Leichhardt. Wing won the Off the Wall competition in Sydney (2006), Melbourne (2008) and Brisbane (2008).
